School Program – Kindergarten-8th grade
School Enrollment Target – 300
Curriculum – With a curriculum aligned with state
of Ohio standards, the Arts and Sciences Preparatory Academy
implements a thematic, interactive program incorporating
multiple learning styles. The core curriculum includes
Spanish and the nation’s top-rated Open Court Reading, SRA
Math, and Harcourt Brace Science.
Students receive the rigor of college preparatory
coursework coupled with the “hands-on” approach of
Paragon
that enables them to practically apply what they learn in
class.
Mornings are dedicated to building solid skills in the
core subject areas of reading, writing, math, and science.
Afternoons feature alternating specials of Spanish, music,
physical education, and a daily 90-minute block of our
proprietary Paragon curriculum.
Technology – Fully integrated into the classroom
and used daily as part of the curriculum rather than in a
“tech lab.” There is at least one computer for every three
students.
Unique program aspects (in addition to meeting or
exceeding all state and federal standards):
200-day school year and full-day kindergarten option

civility Parental involvement is stressed and monitored Pre-

students know” as well as “how much students have learned”
during the year Longer school day (this along with the
longer year provides 2 years of additional learning time
during the first 9 years in the school) Multiple assessments
including ITBS and OAT Spanish education for all students at
all grade levels Intergenerational programs integrating
senior citizens’ experience in the classroom Full-time
curriculum coach to provide daily professional development
Unique, research-based curriculum “Looping” whereby the
student stays with the same teacher for 2-3 years
